Shane Thomason

I am thankful for the opportunity to assist people in making positive changes in their lives.  I have been at LIFE Counseling Center since May of 2015, and I have provided counseling services to individuals, couples, and families.  I have also been the Clinic Coordinator where I had the opportunity to interact with other healthcare providers/organizations in the community to assist with coordinating care for our clients at LIFE.  I have also been the Intake Specialist as I enjoy meeting people for the first time and helping them find hope for their future.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families ranging from children to adults.  I have experience in working with and treating issues such as (but not limited to): depression, anxiety, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, anger issues, parenting concerns, and relational issues.  I am eclectic in my approach to counseling, but my main theoretical orientations center around Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy.

In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and my two children. Playing and coaching sports also keeps me busy. I played college soccer while earning my bachelor’s degree, and now  have fun coaching youth soccer. I also enjoy playing guitar, and I spent several years in a band.

Education: Shane received his undergraduate degree in psychology at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska  He received his master’s degree in Clinical Counseling at Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska.
